Durability First
Robust CO2 Systems for Stewards, Not Bystanders
Vitalis designs and manufactures industrial-grade R744 (CO2) chillers, heat pumps, and refrigeration racks for organizations thinking beyond the next workaround.
No more minimum viable equipment.
No more waiting for the future to force your hand.
This is the era of resilience over deferment.
Efficiency and compliance are table stakes.
Safety is non-negotiable.
Reliability shouldn't be temporary.

R744 (CO2) Heat Pumps & Chillers
"Working with Vitalis has been a strong experience. They're responsive, collaborative, and open to feedback from the field. You can tell they understand CO2 systems, and they back up their equipment with real support. That makes a big difference when you're installing and servicing these systems."
—Ray Kelly, Senior Applications Engineer, Classic Refrigeration
Mission-Critical Applications
Vitalis builds durable CO2 solutions for commercial, industrial, and community-scale cooling and heating applications where uptime, efficiency, and compliance are essential.
Our strength lies in application engineering, using carbon dioxide's unique properties to deliver systems for real-world operating conditions, regulatory requirements, and long-term operational objectives.
From standardized platforms to fully customized systems, Vitalis solutions provide precise temperature control, year-round operation, and reliable performance while avoiding the long-term risks associated with high-GWP, flammable, and PFAS-linked refrigerants.

District Energy
We take CO2 seriously.
CO2 refrigeration systems operate at higher pressures than systems based on other refrigerants. At the extreme upper end, a transcritical CO2 system in a hot climate can reach pressures up to around 1,800 psi.
But let's put that number into some context. Ever flown in a commercial jet, gone SCUBA diving, or played paintball? Consider these standard pressures:
3,000 psi for hydraulic systems in commercial aircraft
3,000 psi for SCUBA tanks
Up to 4,500 psi for paintball tanks
Smart engineering and quality manufacturing have given us many safe and reliable products that operate under high pressures, even if we don't always notice.
For Vitalis, this is one area that distinguishes us as an OEM, because we started as a manufacturer of industrial CO2 extraction systems for applications that often require much higher operating pressures than refrigeration.
In fact, we still design, manufacture, and service extraction systems with vessels rated for pressures up to 4,800 psi.
We are experts at building and testing high-pressure systems using the right methods, materials, components, sensors, and controls. And we have the proper certifications to back it up.
A More Thoughtful Approach to R744 Oil Management
Oil management plays a critical role in the performance, reliability, and longevity of CO2 refrigeration systems.
When oil isn't properly separated, controlled, and returned, the consequences can include unstable operation, premature compressor wear, reduced heat transfer, increased energy consumption, and costly service interventions.
Compared to typical solutions, Vitalis R744 systems feature proven oil management technologies that result in smoother operation, reduced compressor wear, improved evaporator performance, lower total cost of ownership, and greater confidence in the long-term durability of your investment.
